Language of ArtScience
As far as I'm concerned; science is about understanding how the physical world works. The scientific method is built around testable hypotheses, using (mathematical) data as input for these hypotheses and later establishing a context for it. Art is a way to stimulate the human mind in ways science cannot. Letting go of a testable hypothesis and later on establishing a context which is most likely not probable at all. And thus giving science new data/ input to use within their models. After all "All models are wrong, but some are useful". Art can help science understand how the physical world works and science can help art illustrate how the human mind can be stimulated.
The interesting bit of this connection between the two lies in the fact that it will find new ways for both entities to explore. Without art, science would never go beyond the probable (and would therefore maintain a static behaviour); I am afraid that without science, art would not be challenged to go in fields not yet discovered.

A well known example of this is perhaps the film: 2001 A Space Odyssey where Stanley Kubrick used basic ideas of Space Exploration to build a filmic future and later on NASA used the film to come up with ideas for Space Exploration.

Two terms that for me are special within this area are:

Multi media/ multi disciplinary... or as I like to call it: outer disciplinary.

When dealing with matter as above it is necessary that one is not inclined to stick to one well known medium or subject. To renew oneself over and over is a must when dealing with ArtScience. In a previous era it was called a Renaissance Man, which perhaps is an outdated term, but for me still very relevant. Outer disciplinary is the ability of letting go of conventions and well established ideas in order to find new possibilities.

Input

All output can be input. All output should be input. All output will be input. What you make is what you use and therefore helps you further to explore. Regarding the word 'make', note that this could also mean: make an idea, for instance when observing something.
